Reflection on how my writing has improved

The most challenging area for me is writing. The reason why is because it forces very deep thoughts and It forces all your ideas of the subject that you are writing on together. English wasnt my first language so it made it a harder struggle to be outstanding inmy grammar .

In the beginning I had a little trouble committing to my writing.I would write more of a middle school style rather than one of higher standards. When i would write an essay i wouldn't get into details with how i view an issue or statement. My grammar was also at its worst standards. Thanks to the practice in the past months i have improved in my writing skills

Ive grown as a writer,I have learned  how to write a synthesis essay, a argument essay. Ive also learned how give a voice to my writing.

Success to life

Education is  today viewed as the main way to success in life. To me the importance of education are endless. The satisfaction of accomplishment on receiving a college degree is one that cannot easily be forgotten. College education is becoming even more important than it has been in the past. A bachelor's degree is now becoming a minimum requirement for many jobs that previously only required a high school degree. It is important to have an education for your own satisfaction, as well for better job opportunities .I imagine that receiving a college degree will be  a wonderful and  fulfilling experience. Obtaining the degree requires a certain level of commitment, perseverance and patience.

There are  different types of education, there is the formal education, like school, the lifetime education,  when you learn through difficult situations as well as the education received by our parents. But a good education is not just useful for the progress of the country; the advancement lies in the nature of every human .People in these days do actually have the will to know what is going on in the world around them, they want to know what the government needs all the tax money for, they want to understand what a new law is supposed to mean and all this would be impossible without a good formal education. The perceived goal of education is to make the individual and the society 'better' . In our rush to get everybody educated, we do not consider it important to ask ourselves why we need education. Education has been taken for granted. If fact this notion has been so strongly developed that we tend to overlook the implementation of this activity.

Such assumptions need to be questioned. We as a society need to find out the achievement of this system in real terms. We must first take a look at why people perceive education to be a desirable thing. The most common answer was that education makes people progressive in some sense and is necessary for the advancement of a civilized society. Very few people admitted, that it provides employment opportunities. It is interesting that educated people in a formal conversation find it improper to question the most popularly held view among the people that education opens up more job opportunities.Every country has a different education system. Differences include teaching styles, credit system, and even student life. Lebanon is a developing country, so we need many talented people to build the country. That is why we need to have a good education system because it is an important factor for future economic development. Lebanon’s wealth is measured by its educated population and not by its gold nor by its oil. Therefore, the process of education is considered so important in our society that no parents, who can afford it, can imagine having their children go uneducated. It has become such an integral part of our lives that for most people, completing the process of education appears to be a habit. Education is very important for our lives. Without education people wouldn't have their high-developed machine and would believe that the Earth is flat. As for me I have my reasons why I want to get high education.

First reason I want to get high education is for career purpose. At an early age my parents  often told me that education is very important so that I may find a good job. And this is true because if you want to be a doctor or a lawyer, or an engineer you must have an education. I think that it is easier to begin my career not from nothing, but with the experience and all education that I would gain in college.

Also I want to get a high education because I enjoy learning. All my life I’ve  thought that it is very important to be independent. I didn’t like to ask my parents to help me with my homework and I will sit with my homework  till late night. I felt more independent doing it myself rather than receiving help from someone else. High education is very important to me. I want to get a high education for career purpose and for my family. For I will be the first to graduate from high school and go to college. These are all the reasons why I find education important.

Reflection on Finacial Aid

Financial Aids are funds that provide students & families to help pay for educational costs. You can receive financial aid as loans, grants, scholarships, employment opportunities. The COA will be a helpful financial aid if i where  going to a college out of town since it also pays for direct costs and indirect costs. From what I've learned the most suitable financial aid suitable for me is scholarships mainly because i don't have to pay back the money that was given to me.The only problem is that its not the easiest one to get. My other choice is to apply the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) which is the type of financial aid that i will apply to starting  January 1st.

reflection on colleges

From researching all these colleges it made me more aware of what college will be more suitable for me.Such as Houston Baptist University. It is really close to my house and I need a minimum of 3.0 GPA. I would probably be spending about 34,105 in my first year. I also found out that i am eligible for finacial aid which will help me tremendously. The school has 65 student organizations so it has many possible activities to chose from. The other possible college i chose was University of Houston. It has over 65 majors to choose from and 9 pre-possessional programs . It has a very pretty housing. My other choice is Houston Community College. Since im not the richest person ever i can really afford to go to college. This community college seems more convenient for me and my family.

1st semester essay

No Arms, No Limbs, No Worries

I am sitting down watching TV. Just stressed and bored. When I stop at this channel. I see this man  just standing in the middle of the stage smiling . He is good looking has light brown hair ,and beautiful green eyes ,and  has no arms and no legs.

He begins to talk “My name is Nick Vujicic I was born with no arms and no legs. People usually freak out when they see me for the first time . I love kids reactions. I go in the store, and they are just starring at me, and all the kids come up to me saying “What happened!” and I say “cigarettes!” Its amazing  of how this guy has such a good sense of humor. He begins to show all the cool tricks he can do, like how he answers the phone and kicks a ball. He tells all his funny stories to the audience (which are high school kids) , and then he begins to get personal.

“I tell you when I was eight years old I sort of summed up my life. I tell myself I’m never going to get married I’m not going to have a job, im not going to have a life with purpose. But I realize I may not have hands to hold my wife’s hand but when the time comes I’ll be able to hold her heart, and I don’t need hands to hold her heart.”

He finishes by demonstrating a story. He starts to slowly lean forward while whistling. He lightly falls. He continues talking “ So what do you do when you fall down? Everybody knows to get back up because if im not walking im not going to get anywhere. There are times in life when you fall down and you feel like you don’t have the strength to get back up. finish, and your going to finish strong. He slowly starts to push himself up with his head.

Im sitting there with tears in my eyes amazed at what im hearing and seeing. Il be going through life thinking man life sucks and here I am seeing a man with no arms and legs having a better perspective towards life than me. His motivational speech gave me a different belief . From now on instead of wishing for something that I don’t have im going to appreciate what I do have and live my life to the fullest.
